Bodies, 2023-24
The Bodies series explores the language of traditional figurative painting through gestural abstraction. The shapes forgotten. Nevertheless, these are paintings of figures in the sense that there is a foreground/background distinction, a sense of depth, and a sense of a body present in the middle of the composition.
The bodies come forward and push through the veil of outside existence to impose themselves, their entrails, and their inner selves.
